Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea on how we can improve?

Allow online tutoring
Integrate online tutoring into the site, and allow tutors and students to meet virtually. Most likely with a service such as www.twiddla.com

allow responses to reviews
like the way amazon allows sellers to "respond" to any feedback left for them. while i have (thankfully) not yet had a review i felt i had to explain, the situation could potentially arise. for example, if a student simply didn't do the work and the tutor was given a poor rating because scores didn't improve.

Tutors should get a "new" badges for a few weeks when they first sign up
this will help them stand out from other tutors

make a tutor's availability more useable
Currently, as a tutor, I can only enter my availability as "at any time" or "after ...." Right now, I have tutoring commitments on two days at 7:00PM (I am available before that time on and after 8:00PM on those days) and on one day at 4:00 PM (I am available before that time and after 5:00PM on that day). It would be much more helpful if I could enter an "available before ...." as well as an "available after ...." on the same day instead of just "after....".

Add page views
It might be nice if we were able to see how many times the profile had been viewed.

Request feedback from students who have contacted tutors.
I have tutored several students that have never returned to University Tutor because they have graduated. There have also been several that were either too far away or in need of a different subject, but I still helped through email, phone, or text. 1 of which left my only standing review. Can there be an automatic request for feedback from the students/parents, possibly a polite reminder, to put their 2 cents into the tutor's profiles? Maybe a few days after initial contact? It would provide invaluable insight into the tutors and the inquiring students/parents on the website as well as… more

Provide a "how to" guide for people who have never tutored before
Some people who are interested in tutoring have never done it before. It would help to give them some how to articles to get their first client.

Add feedback to the yes or no...
When on the main information pages there is an option to label whatever you read as being helpful or not with a yes and no. It is not much help to you if you do not get a reason why some certain document is not helpful. Regardless of if I click "yes" or "no", I should be presented with a box to post my concern, inquiry, suggestion or compliment.

do not allow people to sign up for tutors that are not appropraite for them.
I have had people contact me to tutor them in subjects I don't teach or contact me to tutor them during hours I cannot work.
12 votesInteresting…yep I guess some people don’t read the profile carefully before contacting. Maybe we can add a message above the contact form…something like “please check the tutor’s subjects and availability before contacting”? I’ll have to think of best way to word it or see how often it’s happening.
In the mean time, we’ll be happy to add a free contact back on to your account since it was irrelevant. Just send a note to
http://www.universitytutor.com/contactThanks!

Optional Standardized Tests for Tutors
Provide optional standardized exams/tests that rate a tutor's proficiency in a particular subject.

Include a process for parents to identify the right tutor
As a parent, I can search on topic, read the background of the tutor, see the rate and location, but I don't know how to select the best tutor. Maybe you could include something that helps parents select the best person for our kid...some type of decision tree, or process, or even thoughts from tutors and other parents about how they figured out which tutor to pick. You have so many quality tutors to pick from.

Include an optional field for a link to tutors personal website
There should be an option to input a link to your own personal website in the 'Basic info' or perhaps the 'About You' section.

Change "The tutor will respond if they are interested/available" to something more responsible
The wording of this text (under "Send this tutor an email" on profile page) is hardly encouraging for potential students who want someone who cares about their efforts, presumably even those expended in finding the right tutor. And this is no small matter.
I respond to every single enquiry, by phone or by email, regardless of whether I eventually end up working with the student. To leave a potential student without a response because I "don't feel interested" or I'm simply not available just does not seem to be either an ethical or a professional way of doing business with… more

Client Page Utilities
The client page is currently a listing of initial contacts. It would be nice to be able to at least sort them into folders/areas such as "Completed", "In Progress", or "SPAM" so it doesn't get cluttered or over-visual. I'm sure other ideas have weight but this is just a start.

allow tutors to add a second/alernate location for the summer.
I have had several potential students and parents contact me over the summer, but being a college student I reside in a different state during summer vacation. It would be nice to be able to basically move the whole profile to an alternate location for the summer months, or have dual-listings with a place to indicate summer or academic year availability.

Post GPA's of subjects that the tutor professes to be proficient in
There needs to be a way to verify a tutor's knowledge on a particular subject. Parent's of students depend on a tutors "professed" knowledge to help their child to pass a course. If the child does not pass due to a tutor's inability to teach or lack of knowledge then it is unfair for the parent to be stuck paying the bill. There needs to be visible proof that a tutor is proficient in his/her professed subject. Posting GPA's is the only solution that I can come up with. Any other ideas out there?

Allow a do not travel block instead of 5 minutes
I do not normally travel and you do not offer an opiton for that and require that Iist i will travel for 5 minutes which seems ludicris to me. I will travel under certain circumstances so I recommend you add a block for "will discuss travel" and or "do not travel"
